WORKSHOPS

Every month we organize various workshops in our studio. Most of them don't require any previous experience.

The groups are small (5 people) and run for 2-3 hours; so you get plenty of individual attention and guidance from our experienced ceramic artist, Bojana Ristevski Mlaker.

Each workshop includes all required materials (clay, tools, glaze, kiln firing). Finished pieces can be picked up at the studio 7-10 days after the workshop.

All pieces are fired at 1250° and are dishwasher safe.

CUPS WORKSHOP

We will make beautiful and practical cups for coffe or tea. Each participant will make two cups.
Using brown clay we will be building with slabs and printing various textures on the cups surface. Special attention will be paid to the design of the handle, its proportion to the rest of the cup and its unique design.

PORCELAIN JEWLERY WORKSHOP

We will be creating earrings, broches, pendants and rings using the finest of materials in the world of ceramics - porcelain.

Using the technique of building from very thin slabs and adding textures and decor the participants will also be able to decide if they would like to use gold and platinum in a separate advanced workshop.

RAMEN BOWL WORKSHOP

Each participant will create a traditional ramen bowl and matching spoon. We will use dark brown clay  and combine the techniques of building from slabs and using molds.
At the end we will be decorating the bowls in traditional japanese style with broad brushstrokes using white engoba colour.
The finished products are all dishwasher safe.

PLATES WORKSHOP

Each participant will create tree plates (diameter 20cm)  from white clay.
We will use the slabs building technique and will decorate them by imprinting various organic or geometrical patterns, perforating, painting.

The finished products are all dishwasher safe.

SUSHI SET WORKSHOP

Each participant will design and create a sushi set for two containing 2 plates, 2 bowls, 2 supports for chopsticks and one bottle/pot for soy sauce.

We will be using brown and white clay, the techniques of building from slabs and pinch pot and decorating with various textures and engoba colours. The finished products are, of course — dishwasher safe.

LIGHTS WORKSHOP

The electrical part is quite simple and all participants will recieve guidance and suggestions with finishing and outting together their lights (electrical components, stands or other support structures are not included in the price of the workshop).

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS  WORKSHOP

The spirit of the festive season is slowly coming to Juha Studio!

Join us on our new workshop in which we will create Christmas decorations from the finest porcelain, using molds with liquid porcelain and also some building with slabs.

We will decorate with underglaze colors, engob and cobalt oxide.

PLANT POTS  WORKSHOP

In this workshop we’ll make pots for your plants that are long awaiting to be replanted!!!

Each participant will create two pots with matching bases using two techniques: building with slabs and building with coils. Brown clay will be used which we will decorate in japanese style, applying white engob in broad brushstrokes.

PORCELAIN BOWLS WORKSHOP

Each participant will create 3 small porcelain bowls using three different techniques of shaping and decorating fine porcelain. One of the techniques will involve the use of molds from acclaimed ceramic artist Jovana Čavorović. This time we will learn new decorating techniques: coloring the porcelain with pigments and traditional cobalt decor.

The finished products are dishwasher safe.

VASE WORKSHOP

Each participant will hand-build a vase from coils and slabs of clay. A special focus of this workshop is to learn using natural pigments (iron, manganese and copper oxides) to colour the clay and create interesting designs and patterns.
